Asia Pacific Superyachts (APS) is delighted to announce Captain Richard Carr will be on board with APS Phuket as of September 1st, 2017 to join in providing services to superyachts.

“With more and more yachts basing themselves in Phuket there is a need for more superyacht experts to assist Captains and crew of visiting superyachts”, reports APS Phuket & Myanmar General Manager, Gordon Fernandes.

Captain Richard brings with him 22 years of experience within the private yachting sector.

He spent the last decade cruising the Asia Pacific Region extensively while being Captain on board of superyachts such as MY Serenity J, MY Aquamarina and MY Perfect Persuasion.

Logging over 200,000 nautical miles, including full circumnavigations, Richard has gained an extensive knowledge of the cruising & refit and repair options throughout the area.

In addition to his Master 3000GT qualification, he also has a background in Diving as a qualified PADI Instructor.

Captain Richard has the backing and support of a long established company with a proven history of excellent service and of meeting the needs of superyachts coming to Phuket, enthused Fernandes: “Richard understands the needs of superyacht owners and captains basing their vessels in Phuket when visiting surrounding islands and cruising Myanmar. He is the right person to join our team in Phuket. With our support background and expertise in the marine industry, we provide unmatched services in assisting owners as we undertake multiple jobs on board. We are taking the strain away from the captain and crew, in all aspects – from vessel clearances, visas, dockage, provisions, Myanmar permits, land tours, re-fits, medical needs, shipboard assistance and ship management.”

APS Phuket is the number one superyacht agency and ship management company in Thailand and Myanmar with the most diversified group of Thai Nationals and European Nationals.

“The team in Phuket has well over 100 years experience in almost every aspect of the marine industry, how you can beat that?”, asks Gordon.
