Asia Pacific’s Maldives & Seychelles ‘Top Yachting Destinations’

Posted on, a beach resource to learn about the best destinations for a seaside getaway, recently announced their top six global destinations for fans of luxury sailing.

Reporting that luxury sailing is an experience few can shake once tasted, the Bulletin noted two ingredients are vital to a successful experience. First, the vessel and then the second ingredient: the destination. Among the top six destinations in 2024 for fans of luxury sailing as determined by are the Asia Pacific island countries of the Maldives and Seychelles.

In selecting Seychelles and Maldives for this elite destination luxury sailing list, Ocean Beach Bulletin included a brief description (partial excerpt below):

Let the winds guide us from Europe down to the Indian Ocean, to the Seychelles, an archipelago of islands off East Africa. This is where your luxury will have less urban influence and appear more like the luxury sailing you daydream about at work. Think hammocks strung from coconut trees on pristine beaches, diving trips that tour the incredible nursery of local marine life, and the inimitable Creole culture.

“From imposing boulders to secluded award winning beach spots, the Indian Ocean’s dot on the world map, Seychelles, represents one of the very few luxurious and untouched frontiers for vessels wishing to cruise in tranquility and diversity”, adds manager Gilbert d’Offay of Asia Pacific Superyachts Seychelles.

Look, if you’ve been voted one of the world’s best beach, diving, and honeymoon locations for the past few years, then it’s obvious you deserve a place on our luxury sailing list. The Maldives, like the other destinations on this list, needs little introduction. It’s one of the genuine jewels of the Indian Ocean—any ocean, for that matter. We already know you’ve fancied dropping anchor outside those iconic bungalows propped over coral reefs.

From the Maldives, Asia Pacific Superyachts director Mohamed Hameed reports on yachts visiting the island country, “The most number of superyachts flock to Maldives from November to May”, adding, “99% of the Maldives territory is made up of sea water and around 240 varieties of corals can be found in the crystal clear waters of the archipelago. A dive and snorkelling paradise, the Maldives is home to some of the most diverse sea life on the planet.”
