With the recent and ongoing developments of the Novel Coronavirus/COVID19, Gordon Fernandes of Asia Pacific Superyachts Phuket and Captain Charlie Dwyer of Asia Pacific Superyachts Koh Samui, share information announced from the Ocean Marina Yacht Club in Pattaya.
The Ocean Marina Yacht Club Hotel has temporarily suspended operations from April 01, 2020 onwards until further notice. This is a measure to protect communities from the further spread of Covid-19 in-line with the Thailand Government’s guidelines.
An update from the marina staff reports there are slightly changing marina office hours during weekends, from 7 am – 6 pm to 8 am – 5 pm greatly appreciates help during this difficult time, asking everyone to wear a mask while in the marina. Security guards are checking temperatures and hand sanitizers are in the golf carts and entrances to the marina.
The yacht club is offering free hard standing during this crisis to help the tenants. If your boat needs any repairs, or the annual antifouling is due, now is the perfect time to get these jobs done. There is still have some space and you may call the office to book your boat in for a haulout. For those boats that are allowed to put to sea, orders state: “When leaving the port or coast at any place, a notification must be made to enter the port or coast at the place of departure and the operators and the owners of the boats are to be strict in [enforcing] the epidemic prevention measures. All the boat officials must wear face masks and maintain a space of not less than 1.5 metres [from other people] and [must] strictly follow the procedures Measures of the Ministry of Public Health and Communicable Disease Committees”.
